Hey, my name is Pete and I love to make music.
My full, dutch name is Pieter Josephs, born in Boxmeer, the Netherlands. I started to play the guitar when I was 11 years old and it has been quite a journey since then. Starting with the Spanish guitar, I got into more classical pieces of music and the fingerpicking roots still have influence on my playing nowadays. During my puberty I just wanted to make noise and started to play the electric guitar. I got into the blues and rock, but it never really got me then and I didn’t play the guitar for some years. After my journey to India at the age of 21, I got inspired again and started to play the Western guitar. I started to play more and more, covers of Dutch artist such as Boudewijn de Groot and Rowwen Hèze and my English-speaking heroes such as Neil Young and Tim Buckley. The guitar became the red line in my life.
Musically I got inspired a lot by the huge variety of Neil Young’s music, the dreamy world of Kurt Vile and the experimental universe of Pink Floyd. Also classical works, jazz and hard rock bands such as Uriah Heep and Deep Purple I highly appreciate.
When I finished my study physiotherapy in 2019, I put a mattress in the back of my car and went on the road. I spent a lot of time in France, Spain, Portugal and Switzerland, where I work as a therapist from time to time. (I work to live, I don’t live to work) The different countries, places and communities all inspired me in my creative process. I played a lot on the streets and since the last years I find my way to small festivals and stages more often. In the fall of 2025 I started the recording of my first album ‘Barefoot Driving’.
